Summer Term 2021
Knowsley Safari Park
The children had a brilliant day at Knowsley Safari Park! We saw a tiger up close and she followed the children, we think she wanted to play! We also saw giraffes, lions, monkeys, tapirs, rhinoceros, and lots more.
Tiger Play
Sports Day
Nursery took part in sports day. We ran in 2 races: a running race and a Spider-Man race!
We listened well and cheered our friends.
Dear Zoo
Our story for this term is called Dear Zoo. The children have been learning about some of the different animals. We used our junk modelling area to make enclosures for them.
Kindness
As part of our school values we have been focusing on being kind. We have talked about what this looks like in our school and what it feels like when someone is kind to us. Here are some picture of the children playing together using kind words and actions.
Number 10
This week we have been embedding our counting skills. We are now looking at number 10. We made towers of 10 and pictures using 10 squares. The children have enjoyed making their own number block.
Jack and the Flum Flum Tree
A very special sack arrived in Nursery this week. It was Granny’s sack from the story, ‘Jack and the Flum Flum Tree’.
The children have loved exploring this story using the props to re-enact it.
Ask your child about the story...
Repeating Patterns
In Nursery we have been exploring repeating patterns. We chose 2 colours to start our pattern, then we repeated the pattern again and again.
Post Office Visit
The children have loved exploring our Post Office role play area. The children wanted to post a real letter. The children drew some wonderful pictures and we walked to our local post office to post them.
We hope you enjoy them!
Music in Nursery
In Nursery we explored our musical instruments. We learnt how to follow a beat and how to make soft and loud sounds. We had lots of fun!
