Autumn 2023

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

Christmas is in full swing in Nursery! We have decorated our tree, worked in Father Christmas’ Workshop, wrote our lists and even took part in Santa Dash to help our community!

Stickman

Our new story is Stickman! We have been thinking about all the different ways you can use a stick… so we collected some and had a fabulous time being creative. We made flags, pictures, frames, candles and used a stick like a pencil!

Number 2

We have been learning all about Number 2. We have been using our subitising skills to recognise 2 without having to count! We played a sorting game and matched each picture to the correct number! We are mathematicians 🪄🎩

Diwali

Nursery have learnt all about Diwali. We listened to the story of Rama and Sita and made lanterns and colourful Rangoli patterns to help them find their way home.

Bonfire Night

Nursery have been learning about Guy Fawkes and why we celebrate Bonfire night. We made firework pictures, chocolate apple slices, bonfire collages and a bonfire to toast marshmallows!

You Choose

The children have been learning about choices and that is it ok to have different ones to your friends. We explored the book ‘You Choose’ and drew picture of who we would like as a friend and built our own dream house!

Colourful Chameleons

In Nursery we have been celebrating our differences through the story Colourful Chameleon.

Autumn

We have started to investigate Autumn. We know that the weather changes and it starts to get colder. The leaves change colour and different things start to grow such as conkers, pinecones and acorns. We had lots of fun exploring!

The Colour Monster

We have been exploring our feelings and The Colour Monster has been helping us.
We know what feelings are and how they show themselves. We made a Colour Monster and talked about that feeling.
