Autumn 2022
Ourselves
We have been busy settling into Reception and are really enjoying spending time in our new classroom and exploring all of the areas in it. We have been making new friends, helping to keep our classroom tidy and enjoying playing independently during our Busy Time.
We have been learning all about ourselves, we know that we are all unique and special.
Maths
In our Maths lessons we have been sorting objects. We have sorted by colour, size, shape and object.
This week our lessons took place in Year 1, after our classroom was flooded! We were all very sensible changing rooms.
Repeating patterns
We have worked hard painting, creating and making our own repeating patterns. Here are some photos to show you what we have been up to.
The Little Red Hen
Over the last few weeks he have enjoyed listening to and retelling the story of The Little Hen. We have drawn and labelled pictures of our favourite characters, used masks to act out different characters and have even baked our own bread after writing our own shopping lists.
Our Local Area Walk
We have been learning about our local area, as we understand more about the world around us. We very sensibly walked with our adults to the Marion Square park, past Aldi and to Our Lady of Walsingham Church. We made out adults very proud, showing our fantastic behaviour and listening really well.
Supertato!
This week in Reception we have been reading the story Supertato by Sue Hendra. We have acted out parts of the story, made our own Supertatos and have even made traps to catch Evil Pea the cheeky character from the story!
