Firework safety
This week we have been learning about different types of fireworks, doing fireworks dances and making beautiful firework artwork.
We have also talked about firework safety and made a list of the things we need to remember to do to keep ourselves safe on 5th November.
We have also decided that fireworks are very beautiful to look at even if they are very loud sometimes!
Funky Fingers
This week we have started our Funky Fingers sessions in Reception. We have enjoyed learning different hand and finger exercises to music before we practiced drawing different mark making shapes and patterns.
Our school trip
Reception and Nursery enjoyed a trip to Imagine That this week. We made our own snow, slime and bath bombs during different science experiments.
We all enjoyed exploring the village, where we had the chance to play in a supermarket, a hairdressers and even a pizza parlour!
We all had a great time and remembered to show our school values while out and about.
Black History Month
This week we learnt all about the local heptathlete Katarina Johnson Thompson. We learnt all about the sports she competes in while trying to win medals in different competitions. We all took part in different heptathlon challenges during our PE lesson and then helped to create a beautiful collage of KJT.
Our Autumn Walk
This week we have been learning all about Autumn. We went for an Autumn walk around the school grounds, searching for signs of Autumn. We worked carefully with a partner to identify different things and tick them off on our sheets. We really enjoyed exploring the world around us.
Our first days in Reception
We have been busy settling into Reception and are really enjoying spending time in our new classroom and exploring all of the areas in it. We have been making new friends, helping to keep our classroom tidy and enjoying playing independently during our Busy Time.
