Spring 23
World Book Day
Today we celebrated World Book Day at OLW.
We all took part in a parade during our whole school assembly, enjoyed listening to some of our favourite stories in class and created art work for a whole school display.
Our whole school text was ‘The Fox and the Star’. We listened to the story carefully, drew story maps to retell the story with our friends and decorated pictures of the fox.
Come Dine with Me
Today we had some special visitors at lunchtime!
Our grown ups came to school to eat lunch with us. We enjoyed chicken curry, naan bread and cake. We had a lovely time, thank you to all our families for joining us.
Role Play
This half term we have been enjoying using our Reception class salon. We have been busy styling, cutting (pretend!) and brushing our friends hair and also taking phone calls from busy customers.
Exploring and comparing numbers
In these photos you can see how hard we have been working during our Maths activities. We have been busy exploring and identifying different numbers using a variety of resources and have even identified one more and one less of given numbers as we have compared amounts.
Making pancakes
This week we have been learning how to use and follow instructions. We carefully followed a set of instructions to help us make our own pancakes and even got to taste them afterwards. they were delicious!
